Happy Wednesday…
There was a woman greatly favored by God, who desired to grant her every wish. Whatever she wanted, God wanted to do for her. However, there was a condition — she couldn’t have more than she needed.
When the woman prayed for a new fridge, she received one. It was a neighbor who had recently upgraded theirs and, learning about the woman’s need, offered their old fridge as a gift. The woman was astonished by this unexpected act of kindness.
The same happened when she longed for a microwave. Her daughter, knowing her mother’s wish, surprised her by gifting her a brand-new microwave. The woman was filled with gratitude, realizing that God had once again worked through the love and generosity of others to provide for her needs.
Many years later, she asked for a TV however, her desire for a new TV posed a problem. She cherished her old TV, filled with memories, and refused to part with it. Though it was no longer working efficiently, she wanted to keep it.
Despite her prayers, the new TV never arrived.
One day, a cleaner asked if she could have the broken TV for her family to use, but the woman insisted on keeping it. The cleaner, a kind-hearted soul, shared her own story of letting go. She had once held onto things she no longer needed, and when she finally cleared them out, new blessings had come into her life. The woman listened, but her attachment to the old TV remained strong.
Later, a man came to her house, offering to buy the TV. He explained that he could repair it, but the woman refused once more. She couldn’t bear to see it go, as it held sentimental value for her.
Even when her children tried to remove it, she held firm. They explained that it was time to make space for new things, but the woman couldn’t bring herself to part with it.
And so consequently, her prayers for a new TV went unanswered because she had no space in her life for it.
The lesson in this story is clear. Sometimes, we hold on to things from the past, whether they are physical items, memories, or emotions. We believe they offer comfort or security, but in reality, they hold us back from new beginnings and from receiving new blessings.
God needed the woman to release what she clung to so tightly, so there was space to deliver the new one. It wasn’t until she finally understood the lesson of letting go that she could make room for the new.
Until you let go of what’s in your hands, you cannot receive the new thing that is coming in.
You must be willing to let go of what no longer serves you, whether it’s an old appliance, a grudge, or a fear. Only then can you create space for new opportunities, growth, and blessings to enter your life.
Letting go is not about losing; it’s about making room for something better. It’s about embracing change and welcoming new beginnings. It isn’t until you understand this lesson of letting go that you can make room for the new.
So what are you clinging to so tightly?
This is your sign that it is time to let it go.
Let go and let new things come to you.
