Here’s to Eating a Slice of Cake Today
Happy Monday…
As a child growing up in Ghana, I never had a birthday party or a cake with the letters of my name written on it. As I grew up and moved to the United States at 20, I still never had a party or cake.
While I don’t fancy parties because I’m an introvert and I do not like the attention, I do love cake!😋
Over the years, I’ve enjoyed cake at other people’s birthday parties but never at my own because, well, I never had my own.
🥳Now, as a mom, to give my daughter everything, I ensure she has lavish birthday parties and huge cakes every year. She learned this year that I’ve never had a party or a cake and was surprised that I throw her parties and get her a cake every year. She vowed to make sure I get a party and a cake every year for my birthday when she is older for the remainder of my life. 😃
Yayy!!
Despite never having a birthday party or a cake of my own, I feel truly blessed at every birthday. I have all that I need and I’ve never lacked any good thing.
While some feel sorry for me for never receiving a cake with my name on it, the Universe knows my name and I receive every good thing. 💌
Today, I have joy in my heart, I feel love in the air, and I’m at perfect peace with my life even to the point of sharing this story.
I don’t feel sorry for myself but of course, I’m human and would like to have human experiences too so I eagerly await the day my daughter throws me a birthday party filled with love and joy and peace and hope and true friends, and a CAKE with the letters of my name written on it 🎂
Until then, the kindness of those sending me love and light and prayers and well wishes every year and those buying me a slice of cake today to indulge truly warms my heart.
So to all my wonderful supporters who have been with me every step of this way, help me in wishing my super amazing self a happy birthday!!
Here’s to eating a slice of cake today and to the beautiful journey ahead. Thank you for being here with me🤩
Love,
Kimberly.
